Daily News Cafe: A Coastal Haven for Sandwiches & Brunch Delights

This spot is sooooo delicious! The acai bowl is almost too pretty to eat, however it was so delicious and I ate the whole thing! All of the food we got tasted amazing and we had the sweetest and hard working server ever named Chloe! I almost forgot to add they have the BEST orange juice, must try!

I definitely give this place 5 stars. The food was excellent. The people who work there are super nice. And they have real half & half for coffee! I love the location, the stone building is really pretty and it's surrounded by beautiful landscaping and flowers. Definitely keep this on your Carlsbad breakfast cafe list!

Daily News Cafe & Restaurant is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of casual comfort and elevated style. The food was absolutely incredible—creative, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted, and the flavors really stood out. What truly made the night exceptional, though, was our server, Luka. He was amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. He had the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, offering great suggestions and making sure everything was just right without ever feeling rushed. Luka’s energy added something special to the whole experience, and it’s rare to find that level of service these days. If you’re looking for a place with outstanding food and even better service, Daily News Cafe & Restaurant is the spot.

Food is very tasty, we enjoyed our breakfast. Pancakes are delicious and the hash brown as well! Portions are good so you won't let that place hungry. The place is nice and you can seat next to the sidewalk to see the people walking. It's very close to the beach like 2 blocks away so you can get there very easy. Service was great and friendly all the time. We recommend it.

I ordered orange juice and the Two Eggs Breakfast. I had my eggs scrambled, I chose the fruit versus hash browns or breakfast potatoes, and the biscuit versus toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, no brown overcooked spots. Before I chose the fresh fruit I asked my server, Deena, how it was and she said it is very good and she was right. As you will see from the pictures and video, there was a great assortment and it was delicious. I also asked Deena about the biscuit versus toast and she said definitely biscuit. Servers are so helpful in guiding me. The biscuits are made fresh and they contain cheddar cheese and rosemary. Awesome! I was telling Deena how delicious the biscuit was and the chef, Brad, came out, and he was very modest about the biscuits. It was delicious. Brad then shared about the organic jelly he makes and I used all of it. This was one of my All Time best breakfast meals!

The Daily News Cafe offers a delightful outdoor dining experience. The fence helps to reduce traffic noise, which only adds to the moment. Many people were enjoying the outdoor seating, to appreciate the wonderful crisp weather of Carlsbad. I valued my dining moment to collect my thoughts. The charming staff ensured my coffee cup was full, which I appreciated. Coffee seems to help process my thoughts.

Tara our server was terrific. Very friendly! The burger was amazing. Steak in fajitas was succulent. The mimosa was strong and delicious. We sat outside by Carlsbad Blvd and it was perfect weather. Great spot for a meal. Closes by 2pm on Saturday so arrive early and enjoy
